The Los Angeles Chargers are coming off a disappointing season to say the least, especially when you consider how high expectations were coming in. However, when you take into consideration the injuries they suffered throughout the year as well as their strength of schedule, the season wasn't really as bad as the record shows. It is for this reason that I believe the Chargers are still serious contenders to make a run in the playoffs, especially when you take into account that they will have quarterback Justin Herbert back next year, who is arguably top 5 in the league at his position, as well as star receiver Mike Williams.
Georgia tight end Brock Bowers, currently rated as high as the number 2 prospect in his class, would make a perfect addition to the Chargers roster. This is because quarterback Justin Herbert would have three talented passing options in the form of Bowers, Keenan Allen, and a healthy Mike Williams. The Chargers should additionally be able to draft Bowers before anyone else snags him because despite having the 5th overall pick, the 4 teams with a pick before them are either in dire need of a quarterback or in no need of a tight end. I firmly believe that the Chargers will be real contenders this coming season if they are able to draft Bowers and stay healthy.
