The highly anticipated EA CFB 25 has set a release date for the general public. The game comes out on July 19th, 2024. The timing of the release is perfect. It gives fans about a month and a half to enjoy the game before the season starts, so interest will remain high and viewership levels will rise. The game is already in very high demand and EA should expect to have record-breaking sales (relative to the release of other sports video games such as the Madden and Fifa/FC franchise). The only thing stopping it from being one of the most sold games of this gaming generation is that it will solely be sold on Xbox Series S/X and PS5.
The game will not be too much different in terms of gameplay. It is very difficult to make a football game different from the football game they already sell. The movement of the players, the in-game settings, and many other aspects of the on-field gaming experience will be identical to Madden. There have been reports that those inside EA think it is going to be very different from Madden, but the gameplay itself is not what they are talking about. And those who do not like the Madden franchise should not be upset by this. What will make the game more special and unique than Madden is the game modes. Dynasty and Road to Glory, where you can rebuild a team or individual player is something that makes the franchise unique. Though Madden has similar game modes, Dynasty and Road to Glory are much different than anything else. We saw this in the NCAA video games and it will stay that way in the upcoming EA College Football 25 game.
Those who buy the game should expect parallels between Madden and the new game. Ultimate Team will be in the game and will likely require the same real money spending to gain better players. But the game will be a fresh reset to sports gaming. New players, new teams, different game modes, and a fresh audience will make it amazing. So fans shouldn't expect too much difference from Madden, but rather a refresh on the football games market.
