Is Iowa State the Best Team in College Basketball?
There’s no doubt in my mind that the Big 12 is the best conference in college basketball as of late, and it only got stronger this year with the addition of Houston, BYU, Cincinnati, and UCF. While Big 12 teams such as Kansas, Baylor, Texas, and Houston have all been in the spotlight for years now, it’s Iowa State that people should be looking at. The Cyclones have won 6 of their last 7 games and currently have a record of 8-3 within the Big 12, and 19-5 overall. This impressive feat consists of a win over number 3 ranked Houston, who also currently sits at 8-3 within the Big 12, as well as a sweep of the number 6 ranked Kansas Jayhawks both at home and on the road.
It’s baffling to me that Iowa State was only just put into the top 10 this week, now ranked at number 10 in the nation. In my opinion, they should be ranked much higher, arguably even around 3 or 4, as they now have 5 quads and 1 win and remain undefeated at home. When March Madness begins I believe Iowa State will have a strong case for a 1 seed, and I would highly recommend taking Iowa State very far if you intend to make a bracket this season. Iowa State is playing the best basketball they have all season, and I don’t believe anybody can beat them right now.
