The Timberwolves are one of the most likable teams in the NBA this season. Their stellar trio of Anthony Edwards, Rudy Gobert, and Karl Anthony-Towns have been sensational this regular season and playoffs.
They swept the Phoenix Suns in the first round of this year's playoffs. They then went into a grueling seven-game series with the Nuggets. They got out to a hot 2-0 start, but the Nuggets won the next three games to find themselves on the brink of finding the next round. The Wolves destroyed Denver in game six, taking the series to seven.
The Nuggets were up 20 points at half time and the game seemed to be over. However, a defensive masterclass by the Wolves helped fuel their comeback taking them to the Western Conference Finals.
The matchup with the Mavericks thus far has not been good for Minnesota. Dallas won the first three games and the Timberwolves were on the brink of a sweep.
The Wolves took a game away from Dallas last night, though. Anthony Edwards and company dominated and won a tough battle.
It is unlikely that Luka will allow the Wolves to come back, but there is a chance. Game five is in Minnesota and this win might be a boost that they needed. No team has ever come back from 3-0 down, but the Timberwolves have a solid chance.
